IOW NHS TRUST – Temporary car park closures for essential maintenance – MONDAY 26TH OCTOBER TO FRODAY 30TH OCTOBER

Essential line marking replacement works will take place across a number of our hospital roads and car parks from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October. The work is needed to maintain the car parks and keep parking areas clearly marked and safe for patients, visitors and staff.
Temporary closures will be in place as follows:
  • Monday 26 October: Main Road markings from 6am. No road closures are planned.
  • Tuesday 27 October: South Block car parks closed, including Breast Screening, Laidlaw, Prosthetics and Orthotics and some of the mental health services
  • Wednesday 28 October: Lower half of Dodnor Lane Car Park closed adjacent to the ambulance station. The helipad parking area will not be affected.
  • Thursday 29 October: Beach Car Park closed.
  • Friday 30 October: Localised closures for final checks and work in smaller areas, including part of the spaces around Mottistone, sections of the North Hospital turning circle, one area of Sevenacres, Bereavement and Mortuary Services.
To allow work to begin at approximately 6am, affected parking areas will be closed from late the previous evening. Please follow local signs and directions from staff while the works are under way.
If you are visiting the hospital on an affected day, please consider using public transport or arranging to be dropped off and collected. Please allow extra time for your journey and appointment.

Monitoring of Speed – High Street near the Youth Club

 

This is what the speed looks like for vehicles outside the youth club in Brading.  This is a 20 mph limit.  A pedestrian hit at 30 mph is approximately 5 to 7 times more likely to die.  Do we need to wait?
